HVAC GOLF CLASSIC & TRADE SHOW - ALL IN ONE!
|
|
|
The CHCC Trade Show Committee & Golf Committee put a great deal of thought and review of survey feedback from both attendees and vendors last fall when we decided to move the show to a joint event in the fall of 2020... With that said - what a change! This event is social distancing at it's best with an info packed show (new format) under the large pavilion at New England's Largest Golf Complex with a sell out golf tournament, dinner and raffle to follow! DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT!! |

During these times of crisis, golfing is a fantastic way to get away from it all and get into the fresh air of the outdoors. Golf provides a pathway to better health for the individual – it reduces anxiety, decreases the effects of depression, brings stress levels down, & offers therapeutic benefits for the golfer. And, above all else, golfing is one of the best social distancing sports during this time and as we know... CHCC's tournament is a SELL OUT year after year! CAPACITY IS LIMITED - RESERVE YOUR FOURSOME TODAY!

COVID-19 Guidelines bring changes... 2020 Changes & Schedule Overview Due to limited availability remaining - we are prepared to take multiple courses. Due to potential continued social distancing requirements we will not be hosting our typical dinner / raffle following golf, instead we will have multiple Food Trucks (including of course the Pizza Truck), Dessert Trucks, BBQ and Beverage Stations scattered throughout the course. You will not leave hungry! Raffle - we have many great raffle items from booze baskets, to foursomes, clubs, coolers, a drone and many more... we will sell raffle tickets online prior to the event, as well as at registration and on a tee throughout the event. We will host a virtual drawing and Jenn Jennings will deliver all prizes following the event. TRADE SHOW - we may have been ahead of the game by moving this years show to an outdoor (under pavilion venue and pushing it to the fall). We have a limited amount of table tops available under the pavilion (the show will be open for 2 Hours prior to golf) we will manage crowd capacity and have one way isles. In addition to the show - we have a limited amount of premium booths to be setup on the Tees. This will provide our vendors an opportunity to have literature available on the tee for distribution and / or have a captive audience as each foursome comes through... Yes, this may slow play, however, with all of the food, information, networking and much needed fun... we will adapt together. The only constant in life is change... and 2020 has certainly been filled with changes. With all of that said... 2020 has also shined the spotlight on the HVAC industry, with COVID-19 mandates pushing ventilation and driving Indoor Air Quality sales... then came July, Heat Advisories were in effect through much of the month as the heat index reached the triple digits driving A/C sales and service... So as we plug through the so called Sunday of Summer... (August), September will be here before you now it... cooler weather and the HVAC industry's much deserved day off fun! DO NOT MISS THIS SELL OUT EVENT - We look forward to seeing you all. |

FROM THE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
"Back to School" Ventilation Guidance Issued
The Connecticut Department of Education recently released their much-anticipated reopening plan for Connecticut's public schools to return in the fall. And although the plan continues to change by district... The ventilation and operations component remain constant. The School facilities and operations considerations are a key aspect of the plan and guidelines, and like other buildings that have reopened around the state, ventilation and HVAC considerations are an important component. The Connecticut Department of Public Health released new "Guidelines for School Systems Operation of Central and non-Central Ventilation Systems during the COVID-19 Pandemic". HVAC contractors working with or in the public schools should review the guidelines which detail building ventilation considerations before, upon, and after reopening. The complete DPH guidelines are linked here:

Before resuming business operations, check the building to see if it’s ready for occupancy:
- Ensure that ventilation systems in your facility operate properly. For building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC systems) that have been shut down or on setback, review new construction start-up guidance provided in ASHRAE Standard 180-2018, Standard Practice for the Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systemspdf icon
external icon.
- Increase circulation of outdoor air as much as possible by opening windows and doors, using fans, and other methods. Do not open windows and doors if doing so poses a safety or health risk for current or subsequent occupants, including children (e.g., allowing outdoor environmental contaminants including carbon monoxide, molds, or pollens into the building).
- Evaluate the building and its mechanical and life safety systems to determine if the building is ready for occupancy. Check for hazards associated with prolonged facility shutdown such as mold growthexternal icon, rodents or pestspdf icon external icon, or issues with stagnant water systems, and take appropriate remedial actions.
