New Code Information

The following are summaries of the attached notices published by the Department of Administrative Services regarding adoption of the 2018 Building, Fire Safety and Fire Prevention Codes.  The draft codes, along with the schedule and details of the code approval process, can be found on our Code Adoption webpage.

Building Code: 

The Department of Administrative Services, Office of the State Building Inspector, in conjunction with the Codes & Standards Committee, is announcing its intent to adopt a new State Building Code to be titled the 2018 Connecticut State Building Code.  In accordance with the requirements of Connecticut General Statue 29-252b, the agency will accept comments from the public for a period of forty-five (45) days, beginning January 2, 2018 through the close of business February 16, 2018.

Fire Safety Code:

The Department of Administrative Services, Office of the State Fire Marshal, in conjunction with the Codes & Standards Committee, is announcing its intent to adopt a new State Fire Safety Code to be titled the 2018 Connecticut State Fire Safety Code.  In accordance with the requirements of Connecticut General Statue 29-292a, the agency will accept comments from the public for a period of forty-five (45) days, beginning January 2, 2018 through the close of business February 16, 2018.

Fire Prevention Code:

The Department of Administrative Services, Office of the State Fire Marshal, in conjunction with the Fire Prevention Code Advisory Committee, is announcing its intent to adopt a new State Fire Prevention Code to be titled the 2018 Connecticut State Fire Prevention Code.  In accordance with the requirements of Connecticut General Statue 29-291e, the agency will accept comments from the public for a period of forty-five (45) days, beginning January 2, 2018 through the close of business February 16, 2018.
